Jazz Artists on The Greens

Jazz Artists on The Greens, is a large festival-styled jazz concert event that was initiated in June 2003. Leaning towards the Caribbean Jazz idiom for inspiration, and with the intention of bringing a touch of class to local jazz, the objective was to expose as many new patrons and young musicians as possible to Jazz, in an informal setting that could help remove much of the mystique that seemed to surround the genre. To quote Production One Ltd. director, Rolf Doyle, "Jazz Artists On The Greens is a first step towards a local jazz festival similar in popularity and size to those held annually in St. Lucia and Barbados, but always remaining true to the jazz." The event has grown from strength to strength, ever widening its base of regional performers...and its audience.

SONGBIRDS...live

SONGBIRDS...live is a new concert series featuring female Caribbean jazz vocalists. A performance showcase featuring, on a monthly basis, some of the most notable upcoming and unheralded female voices in contemporary music with an ear tuned to jazz. Singing in sometimes new collaborations that offer just enough of the improvisatory surprise which is the hallmark of jazz, these smaller productions from Production One Ltd. serve as a platform for the recording of the performances. The event is a series of small concerts in an intimate mid- to upscale setting. Each concert is about 90 minutes featuring a singer with a trio of musicians maximum. The ambiance is maintained after the show for some hours with music. This event will debut in mid 2009.

ONE NIGHT STAND!

ONE NIGHT STAND! is a periodical gathering for a singular sensation. The idea of improvisation is taken from the level of musical performance to the realm of performance space. Native jazz collaborations, showcase ensembles, individuals voices, all devoted to the craft of music will be presented to the public in a well-produced concert. The ambience of the space provides for the audience and the performers to be joined by "the event." This is the new West Indian theatrical experience: all-inclusive on all levels. One unique artiste, one perfect location, one memorable night...for jazz. This event will debut in 2010.
